  • Profit growth of 8-14%.
  • Increased turnover in the warehouse by 17-25%.

Rise business provides you with the following features:
  • Various types of warehouses, including storage bin system.
  • Automation of company's internal inventory flow.
  • Inventory management and maintenance of inventory balances.

Let's look at all these features in more detail.

Types of Warehouses

In the application, you can create the following types of warehouses:
  • Wholesale warehouse. Used to process wholesale operations and meet the internal needs of the enterprise.
  • Retail store. Used to register wholesale and retail sales operations.
  • Shop floor stockroom. Type of warehouse which has a simplified workflow with its own workshop. The shop floor stockroom stores materials and semi-finished products transferred to production, but not yet written off for production, and finished products that have been released, but have not yet been transferred to further processing or to a warehouse.

Simplified vs Advanced Warehouse Management

Goods receipt and shipment can be carried out in a simplified and an advanced way. It depends on the characteristics of the company.

Simplified warehouse management is applicable if:
  • Company does not have a large number of warehouses, and they are not far from each other.
  • Employees are responsible for both financial and warehouse documents.
  • Time of registering sale and the actual goods shipment is almost the same. For example, the customer picks up goods right after purchasing them.

Large enterprises use advanced inventory management more often. The idea of it is separation of invoice registration and actual execution of goods movement in the warehouse. Goods issue and receipt notes are issued based on reference documents such as invoices, orders, or contracts.

The disadvantage of this scheme is an increase in document flow and the need to equip additional workplaces in warehouses. Therefore, for a small company with a small number of workshops and warehouses, advanced inventory management will bring only additional costs instead of convenience. In this case, it makes no sense to introduce an advanced inventory management.

Bin Location System

Large companies with big warehouses with lines or racks and a wide range of goods can simplify placing and picking goods using bin location system. This helps you quickly find goods and keep track of the balances in the warehouse or a wareroom.

If you do not use bin location system, the following issues may occur:
  • Human errors. Only one stockkeeper knows where the goods are kept.
  • Low shipment speed.
  • Suboptimal placement. It is impossible to track whether there are empty storage bins or commodity neighborhood is violated.

Within the warehouse, you can create warerooms, separate places for storing goods. You can create an unlimited number of warerooms in the warehouse.

We recommend that you create warerooms in the following cases:
  • Each wareroom has its own responsible person.
  • Items have different storage conditions.
  • You want to register separate warehouse documents for each wareroom.
Note. You can create warerooms only if advanced warehouse management is enabled. You can use them in both wholesale warehouses and retail stores.
To keep records of exact item location in the system and better organize goods storage, you can take advantage of storage bins:
  • Do not use is the simplest way to store goods. In this case, you do not keep information about a specific location of goods in the warehouse.
  • Use reference-address warehouse storage of products allows you to keep records of goods broken down by a warehouse (wareroom). In this case, you store goods in bins with a specific address (section, line, rack). This method is convenient when you keep the same items in each storage bin. This allows you to quickly find the goods to ship.
  • Use for storage of remaining products allows you to identify the exact location of goods in the warehouse and keep records of them by storage bins. With this option, you can automatically place goods in storage bins, taking into account both the characteristics of the product (conditions, shelf life, dimensions) and the characteristics of the warehouse (number of bins, standard size, and so on). You can not only quickly find goods in a warehouse, but also get accurate data on the number of goods stored in a certain storage bin.
Let's summarize everything covered above in one table:

Do not use storage bins

Use reference-address warehouse storage of products
Use for storage of remaining products

Records are kept at the warehouse level

You can identify the location of goods in the warehouse

Automatic placement into bins, taking into account goods characteristics

Automatic placement into bins, taking into account warehouse characteristics

You can get data on the quantity of goods in the bin

You can identify the location of goods required for shipment

If you select the third storage option, in addition to the address, tour procedure order, and the warehouse area, you can also specify a storage area to which the storage bin belongs. Each storage area has its own conditions for storing certain groups of goods. For example, when you store food, you will not keep fresh vegetables, dairy products and frozen products in one place, as they all require different conditions. For each storage area you create in the warehouse, you can specify a list of groups that meet the conditions provided for this storage area. The system will take these conditions into account upon automatic placement of goods into storage bins, saving you time and insuring accuracy.

To separate goods kept for specific needs (for example, for a special sales order or a line of business), you can account for goods in storage locations separately. Goods assignment can be used in any warehouse. Such goods will be reserved under a particular order or line of business.
